Advanced Blockchain Technology at Your Fingertips

Ardor is a blockchain-as-a-service platform that will allow people to utilize the blockchain technology of Nxt through the use of child chains. Since all processing will be done on the Ardor main chain, child chain creators won’t need to worry about common issues when creating a blockchain as well as securing it with enough nodes. Child chains will be able to utilize features currently seen in Nxt such as decentralized phasing, voting, and trading, as well as be able to interact with other child chains on the platform, including IGNIS, the first child chain to be launched.

What is Nxt?

Nxt is an advanced blockchain platform created in 2013 which builds on and improves the basic functionality of the Bitcoin blockchain. While cryptocurrency and financial systems were the first widely-used applications of blockchain technology, the blockchain and its associated technology can be used for so much more. For example, the Nxt blockchain has a decentralized marketplace where users can buy and sell physical and digital items without the need for an escrow due to the Phasing feature. For more information about the features of Nxt, head over to the Child Chain Features section to learn more about what features will be carried over to the Child Chains.

Main Chain Features

The main chain will be where all Ardor tokens reside and will serve as the system that supports all of the child chains. While some forms of transactions will be possible, such as exchanging main chain tokens with other accounts or for any child chain tokens, most features will be on the dedicated child chain in order to improve the performance of the main chain as well as to reduce blockchain bloat.

Create Your Own Child Chain

Ardor is a blockchain-as-a-service platform that gives you the power to take advantage of the improved blockchain technology easily with the use of a child chain.

With a child chain, you’ll have a decentralized infrastructure to build an ecosystem that you can manage without any chance of unwanted downtime, censorship, or third-party interference.

On the Ardor platform, you’ll be able to cut costs and significantly eliminate risks of system failure. All this while being able to interact with other child chains connected on the Ardor main chain.

Child Chain Features

Child chains are built connected to the main chain and can be used by businesses, organizations, and users for a wide-range of purposes, such as setting up a private chain for secure internal use, or a public one for marketplace activity. Take advantage of the improved blockchain technology for your own use!

In addition to the Ardor tokens that users will receive, there will be another recording right before the launch of Ardor where users will get 0.5 dedicated child chain tokens for every NXT owned. The first child chain on Ardor and will be one much like the Nxt blockchain itself to showcase the features that will be available on other child chains. Like all others, it will also be able to perform transactions with other child chains.
